Built on the proven legacy of Cypress Healthcare Recoveries, the new Studio helps health plans embed accuracy into every claim, reduce administrative burden, and minimize provider abrasion.
Nashville, TN [September 11, 2025] — HealthWorks today announced the launch of its Payer Performance Studio, a next-generation platform designed to help health plans reduce medical spend, streamline operations, and strengthen provider relationships. The Studio builds on the proven track record of Cypress Healthcare Recoveries, which now operates as HealthWorks’ dedicated payer performance division.
HealthWorks’ leadership team has been at the forefront of payment integrity for more than three decades, shaping many of the industry’s foundational frameworks. With the launch of the Payer Performance Studio, the company is advancing beyond traditional payment integrity into Process Integrity—embedding accuracy, compliance, and efficiency directly into the payment cycle, rather than correcting errors after the fact.
“The Payer Performance Studio is a natural extension of our mission to make healthcare work better,” said Darby Brown, President & CEO of HealthWorks. “By integrating Cypress Healthcare Recoveries into HealthWorks, we’re uniting proven payer solutions with a broader platform of technology and services for providers and patients. Together, we’re breaking down silos and building the trust, clarity, and efficiency the industry has long needed.”
The Payer Performance Studio delivers a comprehensive suite of services, including medical record review, advanced data mining, member monitoring subrogation, provider retraction and collection, credit balance automation, and secure digital communication pathways. Each offering is designed to maximize payment accuracy, reduce waste, and strengthen compliance—while minimizing abrasion with providers. These services are powered by HealthWorks’ AI-driven technology stack, which integrates advanced analytics with decades of operational expertise to help payers move beyond recovery into Process Integrity. The result: accuracy and compliance embedded into every step of the payment cycle, with claims managed at speed, scale, and with defensibility.
The Studio will be supported by an experienced leadership team including Chad Heflin, Executive Vice President, Payer Solutions. Heflin co-founded Cypress Healthcare Recoveries and previously worked alongside Brown at AIM Healthcare and ClarisHealth. At Claris, where Brown serves as Chairman, Heflin was an early investor and executive who helped advance a platform that unified payment integrity operations, accelerated accurate claims payment, and surfaced proactive insights for payers nationwide.
This launch marks another milestone in HealthWorks’ mission to create clarity where there is complexity and align payers and providers around shared goals and better outcomes.
